Fredericksburg Area Museum and Cultural Center

After purchasing an historic bank building, FAMCC selected Quatrefoil to design galleries exploring a variety of themes related to the region’s history including the Civil War, transportation, Native Americans, banking, civil rights and life along the Rappahannock River. We wove together the museum’s collections — including dozens of Civil War firearms from the Ralph W. Johnson Gun Collection — and activities including multimedia exhibits, listening stations, ambient audio and video. In 2013, the museum asked Quatrefoil to design the changing exhibition “Woman Adorned: Transcending Time, Transforming Culture,” featuring items from the museum’s garment and accessories collection, the Virginia Historical Society and the Valentine Richmond History Center.
